Who are your favorite people to be around?
She was born on the same day as she birthed my father. Her determination tenacity and love of children is a testament to the strength she possessed. Her older brother had a love for my father that was priceless as well. We always lived close to my great uncle. Granddaddy went off to heaven preceding mova and my great uncle. Granddaddy served this country.
My favorite people are not with me anymore physically. They have gone to heaven to continue to watch over and remind me that I am loved.
Although, I may feel discouraged at times, it’s because of them I am courageous.
My grandmother (Mova), my great uncle (K) and my father are my favorite people in the whole wide world.
Being in their presence is like going on an adventure to an amusement park, without ever having to leave the room. In their presence everyone is well provided for, educated in the ways of the world, encouraged to learn or work, not to mention the hearty meals. You’ll always leave with a full belly, they will insist.
To be specific, as soon as my elders hear you come through the door they’re fixing your plate to eat. Times were hard back then, so it became a tradition. (Daddy is the oldest of 13 siblings). Everyone whose ever had the opportunity to have the experience never forgets it and comes back for more.
My dad is the person who would always kiss me on my forehead and say, love is truly wonderful and I have added try it.
