They do it Big in Texas!

Why Texas

I had a great job, and there is no better way to start a new life in a new location than to be employed first.

Don’t get me wrong it was hard but once I found my footing it got better.

Leaving Chocolate City

Growing up I always dreamed of a life traveling to new places seeing new things and meeting new people.

I needed to know what it would be like to live the way I was raising my child to live on a regular basis without the negative messages coming from people who would never venture outside of my hometown.

Just imagine how well versed travel and new experiences would be in the development of myself and my child.

My mission has always been to hear my parents say…

I’m proud of you

Hearing my parents say they are proud of me meant that my parents could be happy as one and most of all it would mean that I gave them comfort and not stress. I watched my parents struggle through so many disappointing moments in my lifetime.

It didn’t turn out that way. When I finally heard my father tell me he was proud of me, it felt like death and disappointment. My leaving home seem to actually make things worse at home. So the support and justification confirmation that I needed never came.

By the time I was welcomed back into my parents life, my childhood home was sold and I was caring for my dying father.

The Texas Effect

While in Texas I had a son. I was all alone. Having my son felt like love. The type of love that’s different from having a daughter.

Daughters give the feeling that you’re getting a chance to right what you feel are your wrongs or need for companionship.

Son’s teach you love and loyalty. The kind of love and loyalty you may or may not have given or received, either way as a parent it’s what makes parenting special.

If you believe in yourself regardless of the struggles, look to your children. Your answers are there right in front of you.

Hug a child today and everyday.
